No chemistry without energy
Founded in early 2013, this subsidiary of Covestro Deutschland AG operates the distribution networks at Covestro Brunsbüttel Industrial Park. Approximately 400 kilometers of power cables and around eight kilometers of natural gas pipelines have been installed throughout the site. This is how natural gas and electricity are fed directly into the production plants – with greatest reliability and precision.
Around 20 employees are responsible for monitoring the technology, maintaining the energy systems, measuring consumption and billing. The team ensures that each customer receives exactly the quantities and grades of natural gas and electricity they need. And all of this at favorable terms – thanks to intelligent procurement strategies and active portfolio management.
And this not only ensures smooth production in the industrial park. Energie GmbH also helps the resident companies remain competitive because customers can save on energy costs for natural gas and electricity.

Important customer information from 11.21.2022:
Under the Emergency Natural Gas Relief Act (EWSG), one-time relief for the month of December is provided to natural gas last consumers under certain conditions. In the case of natural gas consumers with a standard load profile, advance services are provided under certain conditions. Relief is also possible under very narrow conditions for natural gas injury consumers with RLM. At this point in time, a large number of legal issues remain unresolved. Basic information has been summarized by the federal government in FAQs.
Furthermore, it is pointed out that energy savings have a cost-reducing benefit. The federal government has also prepared basic information for possible measures here.
High-performance natural gas distribution network offers highest standard
Covestro Brunsbüttel Energie GmbH supplies its customers in the Covestro Brunsbüttel Industrial Park with natural gas at various pressure levels, from high to low pressure. For this purpose, the natural gas is taken from the interregional pipeline transport networks and “depressurized” using the company's own pressure controlling systems. This enables it to be fed into the local grid, which was built up with considerable investments on the part of the company.
As a competent operator of the regulated gas distribution network at one of Germany's major chemical sites, Energie GmbH offers a high-performance network, the highest technical standards, and the best possible supply reliability.
