We are delighted to see our CSRs in Taiwan have been recognized by the PR News judges panel,” said Matthias Poth, Global Head of Corporate Communications & Public Relations of Covestro. “Children are our future, and we believe if they are given the chance to witness the capability that different people demonstrate, there is a real possibility of changing their attitudes in DE&I and impacting their entire lives.”

The global social impact judges committee of PR News consists of a group of experts in diversity, equity, inclusion, and CSR. PR News points out that the unique inspiring, innovative, diverse, and impactful nature of both the Grandparent-Grandchild Science Camp and the MagicMaterial School has won the approval of the judges panel.

Chemistry Lights Up Diversity – Science Education for Children

With diversity, equity and inclusion at the heart of Covestro’s working culture, Covestro Taiwan has developed two CSR initiatives from these concepts: the first series, the MagicMaterial School, which is designed for hearing impaired students, aims to ignite children’s curiosity in science, and to lead children to respect others through realizing that everyone has unlimited possibilities. The second initiative is the Grandparent-Grandchild Science Camp, a project which aims to shorten the distance between grandparents and grandchildren, as well as to encourage lifelong learning. Both the initiatives combine the company’s expertise in science, and a total of 5,252 people have been assisted by 320 volunteers in the past eight years.
